The site plan is often the sheet that brings planning, zoning, building, grading, drainage, utility, and safety review together. We can prepare the permit site plan from a current survey or other base information accepted for the project, then coordinate it with the pool and engineering drawings.
What a pool site plan commonly shows
The drawing identifies the property, proposed pool and spa, water edge, equipment, existing structures, property-line distances, fences and gates, easements, utilities, and other features required by the local checklist. Slopes, retaining walls, septic components, overhead conductors, trees, drainage paths, and access are added when applicable.
The required scale, dimensions, notes, and supporting documents vary by authority. The plan is arranged so a reviewer can understand both the proposed work and its relationship to the site without searching across unrelated sketches.
When a survey is still required
A site plan prepared from supplied information is not automatically a land survey. If the building department requires surveyed property lines, topography, easements, or certification, that work must come from a California-licensed land surveyor or another professional legally authorized for that service.
If you do not have a site plan, select that option on the project request. We will review the available records and tell you whether an accepted base can be developed or a survey is the appropriate next step.
One base for the whole permit package
Pool geometry, structural sections, equipment locations, and trade information are coordinated to the same current site plan. If the owner changes the pool location or a later survey changes a property relationship, the affected documents must be updated together before submittal.
Local permit questions
Frequently asked questions
What if I do not have a survey or site plan?
Send the address and available records. We will determine whether the permit authority may accept an owner-provided or record-based base plan, or whether a licensed survey is needed.
Is a pool site plan the same as a boundary survey?
No. A permit site plan can be prepared from accepted base information, but only an appropriately licensed professional can establish or certify property boundaries when that service is required.
